Poem “Climate Change” by Shahid Abbas & Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo

Elizabeth: Years of neglect brought out great changes, The once, green fields and blue oceans Enveloped in toxic wastes and degradation, Who is to blame for such destruction? Shahid: Humans are the cause behind it, Involved in the abominable destruction No one is taking any immediate action Against the people Who are converting heaven into hell, They should be locked up in a cell. Elizabeth: The air, land, and sea Succumbing to weathered misery, The air we breathe used to be pure It is a pity what the young must endure. Shahid: The climate lets the beauty fade, Why we are waiting for more degradation Our characters are in a bad parade, We must save our generations Stand up, oh world's nations! Elizabeth: We must heed the call of Mother Nature, Preserve the Earth from further rapture Let the wildlife live longer and be free Protect them from heat waves and other forces of nature, All species facing extinction, must be saved. Shahid: Let's be loyal to Mother Nature, Give importance to all creatures Oh, so-called leaders, We don't need your signatures, We can start acting on some actual steps. Elizabeth: Hand in hand, we must unite, Address climate change and take action, Think of the welfare of the next generation Let them witness the beauty of the Earth, Our only Home. Shahid: Oh, human, oh, wise human Change your greedy habits Open the wisdom's book pages And read .... If you don't stop now.. you will have to suffer more in many ages.
